About Equine Amigo

Equine Amigo provides professional, compassionate, and welfare-focused equine training designed to support both horses and their owners. Our work focuses on understanding behaviour, improving communication, and building calm, confident partnerships based on trust and respect.

Experience & Background

With over 15 years of experience working with horses across the UK and Europe, Equine Amigo was founded by Fernando Lozano in 2016. Originally based in Norfolk and Suffolk, Fernando has supported countless horses and owners in overcoming behavioural challenges and developing calm, confident relationships.

Now based in the Forest of Dean, Equine Amigo continues to support the local equestrian community and surrounding areas, offering professional behavioural guidance and training tailored to each individual horse.

Our Approach

Equine Amigo specialises in the ethical and appropriate application of Learning Theory. Training is designed to support clarity, confidence, and understanding, helping owners communicate more effectively with their horses.

All methods are science-based and welfare-first, focusing on calm guidance rather than dominance or punishment. Each training plan is tailored to the individual, taking into account the horse’s history, environment, and emotional wellbeing to achieve sustainable, long-lasting results.

Our values:
– Welfare always comes first
– Ethical, evidence-based training
– Clear, kind communication
– Respect for the individual horse
